KK Combi (59)
KK is the executive chairman of Thembeka. He holds a diploma in public relations and was nominated the Ernst&Young South Africa's best entrepreneur in 2000 as well as the World Entrepreneur of the Year in Managing Change. KK is a member of the Institute of Directors and sits on various listed and unlisted companies' boards as well as the Absa Bank Advisory Committee (Western Cape).
S Cassiem (40) BCom, CA(SA), H Dip Tax
Shameema obtained her B Com (Hons) degree in 1991 and joined Price Waterhouse Coopers to complete her articles. She obtained a H Dip Tax from Unisa in 2003. She has extensive experience in the financial services and oil industry.
Shameema was one of the founding members of Thembeka. She serves as a non-executive director on the boards of several Thembeka investee companies.
AF Fuchs (35) BCom (Law) LLB
Tonie was admitted as an attorney of the High Court of South Africa early in 2003 after completing his articles at attorneys Walkers Incorporated. After practising as an attorney, Tonie joined Arch Equity as legal adviser in July 2004. Following the restructuring of Arch Equity, Tonie was appointed as an executive director of Thembeka with effect from 1 December 2005. Tonie is currently the chief operating officer of Thembeka.
M Edas (34) BSc (Eng), MBA (UCT), CFA
Morné began his career working for Eskom as a Nuclear Component Engineer at the Koeberg Nuclear Power Station in Cape Town. After completing his MBA degree in 2004, which included a stint at Cambridge University in the UK, he joined Cadiz Asset Management as an Equity Analyst, where he worked across a number of sectors and industries during a three-year tenure. Morné is at present an Executive Director at Thembeka Capital and sits as a non-executive director on the boards of various investee companies.
S Totaram (33) BAcc, PG Dip Acc, CA(SA), CFA
Samara completed her articles with Deloitte, and then spent 18 months at the Royal Bank of Scotland in London. She joined PSG Capital (Pty) Limited in 2007 as an analyst and was promoted to director in 2010 where she was primarily involved in new listings, capital raisings and other commercial transactions, merger and acquisition advisory work, general corporate finance consulting and valuations. Samara then joined Thembeka in October 2010. She furthermore serves as a non-executive director on the boards of various companies including Kaap Agri Limited and Erbacon Investment Holdings Limited.
PJ Mouton (34) BCom (Mathematics)
Piet is an executive director of PSG Group. He has been active in the investment and financial services industry since 1999, with four years UK banking experience. Piet serves as a non-executive on the boards of various PSG Group companies including Capitec Bank Holdings Limited.
PE Burton (58) BCom Hons Financial Management, Postgraduate Diploma in Tax Law
Patrick was one of the founding members of Siphumelele Investments Limited, a black economic empowered company established in 1995, with a shareholder base representing in excess of 150 000 black people. His experience as a director includes executive and non-executive positions in fishing, financial services and insurance. He is a member of the audit committee of PSG.
J Moropa (56)
Japie has been involved in business all his adult life. Until early 2005 Japie was the executive chairman of Securicor, South Africa. He serves on the boards of various other companies, holds various prominent trusteeships and is a member of the Institute of Directors. Japie is currently a non-executive director of Thembeka.
